Slip management served up
30 March 2016
Bonasystems, market leaders in cleaning and anti-slip products, services and consulting, has won a prestigious contract with Mitchells & Butlers to provide slip prevention solutions to 400 of its outlets.
Mitchells & Butlers is one of the UK’s largest operators of restaurants, bars and pubs in the UK and its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Harvester, Toby Carvery, All Bar One and O’Neills.
Bonasystems has been engaged to provide slip prevention consultancy, anti-slip treatments and best-practice floor maintenance regimes. It follows a trial across a dozen Mitchells & Butlers’ sites where Bonasystems’ solutions led to a 60 per cent reduction in slip accidents.
Bonasystems estimates that the initial treatments will take up to 12 months via a dedicated team of operatives. It will then train Mitchells & Butlers’ own staff and cleaning contractors on a bespoke post-treatment maintenance regime and the use of its own specialist cleaning products.
Darren Read, health & safety manager at Mitchells & Butlers, said: “Front-of-house and high footfall areas in restaurants and pubs are well-known as higher-risk areas for slips and trips. We wanted to make sure that we were using the very latest techniques and technology to actively manage those areas and provide a safe and healthy environment for our customers and staff."
