Return of the Lions' Lair...

02 November 2016

Exhibitors at the next Health & Safety Event are once again being invited to pitch their products and services to a panel of ruthless judges in the second Lions' Lair sessions.

Taking place at Birmingham’s NEC on 21st to 23rd March 2017, Lions' Lair celebrates the best in innovation within the health & safety industry.

Lions’ Lair has been designed to encourage innovation in health and safety technology but also to provide an interactive session that allows visitors to see the latest in cutting edge products and services. A shortlist of 16 innovators will be quizzed by industry experts in four sessions over the first two days before the panel and live audience vote to decide on who should be crowned the ‘Lions’ Lair’ winner.

The first Lions' Lair saw SoNQ awarded the coveted trophy by ex-England rugby international legend Rory Underwood, after pitching the company's SoBase cloud-based software system. The panel of judges included John Holt, director of health, safety and environment at Rolls Royce PLC, Liz Skelton, the vice president of IOSH, Karen Hoskins, managing director at IBIS Solutions, and Nick Warburton, journalist at Technical Publicity.

Mark Flanagan, founder and managing director of SoNQ, said: “We are always looking for new innovative ways to approach compliance, so to be recognised in this way at The Health and Safety Event is such a fantastic achievement. The team on the day pitched SoBase to perfection, with their expertise, passion and commitment to the product shining through, which can be clearly seen in the judges amazing feedback on the team and our award-winning product.”

“‘The Lions’ Lair’ has been designed to encourage innovation but also to allow visitors to witness innovative products, services and concepts being pitched in a fun and interactive environment,” said events director Tim Else. "Above all, we hope this addition to The Health and Safety Event will make people more aware of the great leaps that are taking place within the industry.”
