Stamp of approval
21 October 2014
The Royal Mail Group has given specialist flooring manufacturer Ecotile its stamp of approval to carry out a flooring installation programme in order to deliver improved safety and wellbeing for its workforce.

With Ecotile, the Royal Mail Group was able to develop colour-coded walkways and vehicle lanes in its distribution centres, as well as pedestrian crossings. Safe-distance chevrons have been created every 3m and yellow and black ramp sections have been installed to moderate vehicle speed.
Ecotile says its floor tiles provide a comfortable work surface underfoot and that the acoustics within the building have been improved.
The interlocking floor tiles are frequently chosen for flooring projects within warehousing and distribution centres, with the Royal Mail Group selecting the Ecotile 7mm tile.
The tiles were installed without downtime as the clean, loose lay of Ecotiles means that the installation process is fast and simple. The floor can be installed without the need for a damp proof membrane, screed or adhesive.
