Take a 360° virtual tour and see how Gore tests PPE
08 April 2021
FOR THE first time, Gore is offering visitors a digital tour around its 20 GORE-TEX lab rooms and almost 100 test stations.
From this newly created 360° visual experience, visitors can easily navigate their way around the GORE-TEX labs and delve deep into the way the brand tests fabrics, laminates, seam tapes, as well as manufactured PPE such as jackets, coveralls, salopettes and safety footwear for a huge range of safety, durability and comfort factors.
For 40 years, GORE-TEX has made waterproof, breathable garments, becoming a household name for performance apparel and specialist PPE. The reliability of their products is in part due to the immense investment in scientific research and development and also the in-house testing procedures developed by the company. Usually, physical tours of its testing labs in Germany and the U.S. are offered by Gore, but with current restrictions, the company has found a creative way to explore the labs digitally.
From seeing how fireproofing is tested in the Heat & Flame lab, how fabric and laminate longevity is inspected in the Durability Testing and Analysis lab, through to learning how the Rain Tower tests waterproofing, the easy to navigate tour provides a fascinating insight into the brand’s methodical and scientific approach to quality PPE provision.
