Stylish prescription safety glasses
30 May 2013
Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has introduced prescription safety glasses with a wraparound-style. Glasses with a wraparound style are found by some to be more comfortable than traditional safety glasses and this, coupled with a more modern look, means that they are more likely to be worn. The new safety glasses, which are available in blue/crystal or clear, are made of polycarbonate plastic, so are hard-wearing but lightweight.

The wraparound styles are available as an alternative choice under the standard safety vouchers from Specsavers Corporate Eyecare. They cost the employer £36.81 for single vision CR39 prescription lenses and £73.62 for bifocals or varifocals. Research carried out by Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has revealed that 52% of health and safety managers believe employees remove safety eyewear due to discomfort or poor fit. It is not surprising, therefore, that 81% believe that style is an important factor in evaluating safety eyewear.
