The countdown to the Safety & Health Expo has started and the BSIF is gearing up to make this one of its best shows yet. The Federation is once again show partners and is looking forward to contributing and hosting a number of events over the three days.
Making a stand
Unfortunately fake and illegal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is continuing to be an unwelcome visitor in the workplace. The BSIF is maintaining its fight against this illegal practice and welcomes individuals to come and visit its stand (P8) to find out further information on how they can help clamp down on this unscrupulous behaviour. The Federation will also be able to help provide peace of mind for PPE purchasers by providing further information on its Registered Safety Supplier Scheme. This scheme acts as a signpost for people to ensure that they can buy from a reputable company whom they can trust to supply genuine and legal products and will also provide good advice. The BSIF will also be on hand to provide a multitude of information on its current initiatives including its 'Fit2Fit Fit Test Providers Accreditation Scheme' and its 'Clean Air? Take Care!' campaign.
Something to shout about The BSIF, in cooperation with RoSPA will also be holding a seminar in the highly successful Product & Innovation Hub offering advice on the safety market, the influence of the Lord Young report and how innovation has improved safety performance at work. This presentation will be taking place on 18th May at 12.30pm.
Forging ahead
The BSIF will also be looking to forge new relationships with overseas buyers at this year's exhibition. Organised in conjunction with the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and UK Trade and Investment (UKT&I), the BSIF will be holding a 'Meet the Buyers' session. The 'speed networking' event offers one-to-one introductory meetings for selected UK suppliers to present their products and services to overseas health and safety buyers. This year will see 30+ buyers and commercial officers attending from countries such as Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Egypt.
Members will also be able to take advantage of the BSIF Breakfast Club that was developed to allow members to enjoy breakfast whilst listening to presentations on critical safety market issues and initiatives.
