App for sound insulation measurement
30 October 2018
The new Building Acoustics Assistant app can be used with Svantek sound level meters equipped with Bluetooth interface, such as the SVAN 977 and SVAN 979.
It can also be used with Svantek’s SP 95 Impact Ball for sound insulation testing in light weight structures where a standard (tapping machine) impact sound source would create too much impact force.
The new smartphone app guides the user calculate through the sound insulation measurement procedure in accordance with ISO 16283, as sound insulation results are displayed on the screen and in a compliant report format.
An individual project, containing measurements from the source and receiving rooms for different sound source positions, is created during the process. The project data and measurement files are saved in the sound meter memory.
The interface allows the user to preview results in the form of time-history plots as well as numerical values while the app also allows for photos and voice memos to be added, offering a complete portable monitoring package.
Available for Android phones or tablets, the application is available to download from the Google Play store.
The Svantek range is exclusively available from Shawcity.
