BSIF in action

05 August 2015

On 25 June, Alan Murray was invited to speak at the Future of Health and Safety UK conference about the upcoming changes to PPE regulations due in 2018.

The one day event organised by Govtoday attracted a wide range of professionals from health and safety directors to risk managers and lawyers. Some of the other speakers included Kevin Myers, deputy chief executive of the HSE, Professor Dame Carol Black, expert advisor on Health and Work Department of Health and Thomas Martin, joint managing director of Arco, a BSIF member.

Alan’s presentation was well received and his presence at the conference gave a voice to the safety and health industry that was heard by key influencers such as the HSE, Department of Health and the NHS.

Between 29 June and 2 July, BSIF exhibited at the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) annual conference in Bournemouth. The purpose of attending was to promote the integrity of quality PPE. As a result of exhibiting at the conference, valuable contacts were made and direct presentations will be given to a number of Trading Standards Regional organisations highlighting and discussing the escalating numbers of substandard and fake PPE, promoting the benefits of the Registered Safety Suppliers Scheme.
