Hygiene & safety
03 June 2014
Bradshaw Electric Vehicles and Vogelsang have supplied two custom built, mobile Controlled Emission Toilet emptying systems to First TransPennine Express.

The new vehicles are in action at Manchester Airport railway station, extracting sewage from the toilet holding tanks and supplying wholesome water for washing hands and for toilet flushing, on trains operated by First TransPennine Express.
Hygiene and safety were key priorities for the rail operator, ensuring that both stringent safety and hygiene requirements for platform work were met, together with ease of maintenance of the vehicles and the CET Systems.
Vogelsang's non-drip coupling system meets the hygiene priority by eliminating spillage during sewage extraction or water filling. Based on the Bradshaw PFB1500 chassis, the AC drive technology addresses the safety priority with multi braking systems, lighting, safety cut out and audible warnings as standard.
