LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services (LOTAMS) is using a Combilift 4- way forklift as a safer alternative to its previous truck for handling large loads containing aircraft components at its base at Warsaw International Airport. Elements such as aircraft wing parts and control gears are delivered in crates up to 8m x 2m.
Offloading these from HGV's and transporting them to the workshop was a tricky and potentially risky procedure with the old counterbalance forklift.
The all-directional capability of the Combilift LPG powered C2500 model with a 2.5t capacity affords operators a good field of vision, has impressive manoeuvrability and copes easily with the heaviest loads of around 1200kg. A fork spreader attachment adds stability when moving the longest crates.
