Bespoke trench covers have been
designed by British Standard
Gratings (BSG), specialists in
industrial flooring and handrailing,
to offer the discrete casing solution
for cables running within the new
£60m Bluewater Events Venue, near
Dartford, Kent.
BSG supplied around 1320 trench covers, which are used to conceal and protect all the service cables and facilities to provide power connec - tions throughout the venue. Each cover comprises a substructure of BSG's open steel flooring, with a top sheet incorporating a sliding flap for access to the trench below. The cover needed to be as light as possible, but at the same time, cope with the varying weight loads that the floors are subjected to.
