LED emergency lighting from Advanced
03 September 2020
It's easy to switch from fluorescent to LED emergency lighting with Advanced’s range of versatile, high-performing and energy-efficient solutions.
Many emergency lighting installations, in place for upwards of ten years, include old technology that can add thousands of pounds of unnecessary expense to buildings’ overall running costs. Traditional fluorescent lighting consumes significantly more electricity than LED technology, while the typical lifespan of fluorescent lights is between 15-30 per cent shorter than that of identical LED solutions, resulting in a greater number of bulb failures and replacements leading to higher overall maintenance costs.
Switching to LuxIntelligent’s low-energy LED emergency lighting is quick, simple and will on average deliver 20% energy efficiency savings compared with fluorescent alternatives. The versatile range of LuxIntelligent luminaires and exit signs can be integrated onto existing cabling and/or used alongside the LuxIntelligent emergency light testing panel to form an intelligent emergency lighting system.
Matt Jones, Advanced’s Emergency Lighting Business Manager, said: “When building owners take time to review their long-term emergency lighting costs, there can be some nasty surprises. Realising the potential reductions in overheads and environmental impact that simply switching to LED can make is driving the fast pace of change towards less energy-consuming lighting. Thoughts of disruption, inconvenience and cost are often cited as reasons to delay swapping old for new technology. However, LuxIntelligent LED luminaires are quick and easy to install and deliver demonstrable long-term cost-saving benefits.
“We offer a wide range of LED emergency lighting solutions as well as EasySafe, our latest range of addressable, low-voltage (32V) emergency luminaires and exit signs that also deliver significantly lower running costs and CO2 emissions while minimising maintenance and testing labour.”
The cost saving benefits of EasySafe include:
-
Reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions
-
Superior device lifespan
-
No need for fully-qualified engineer
-
Painless installation – less fitting time on site
-
Compatibility with existing devices and wiring
Powered directly from the LuxIntelligent emergency light testing panel, EasySafe devices require no local power supply and are compatible with any existing LuxIntelligent luminaires and exit signs. This enables simple and cost-effective installation of devices onto existing wiring. The low-voltage lights offer quick and easy fitting and service, with a simple ‘twist and click’ installation onto a first-fix base without the need for a qualified engineer. Managing maintenance and compliance is easy, with test result data accessible at the touch of a button via the cloud-connected LuxIntelligent control panel, PC or mobile app.
Matt added: “Well-tested, compliant and dependable emergency lighting is vital to life safety. LuxIntelligent optimises LED technology to not only help ensure compliance with BS5266-1 and EN60598.2.22, but to also help drive down the cost of owning and maintaining your system.”
