The bird nesting risk: A modern approach to bird control

24 February 2016

The bird nesting season will soon be in full swing and many businesses, unless they quickly take action, will suffer the consequences and cost of nesting birds this year.

Urban birds, gulls and pigeons especially, are expert scavengers whose behaviour can significantly impact safety, public health, maintenance costs and brand image. Nuisance bird problems can easily be prevented using modern techniques and the right approach.

Lasers

Now more widely available lasers are effective in controlling roosting birds. There are handheld and automated laser systems available and all are harmless to the birds, have a long range, no environmental impact and are silent bird deterrents.

Falconry

Falconry is a traditional pursuit but the use of specialist trained birds to work in urban environments is not only humane and responsible but extremely effective.  Falconry programmes use a scientific approach to modify bird behaviour in specific ways to achieve effective results to protect wide areas.

Bird Gel: A modern alternative to bird spikes

An alternative to bird spiking and ideal for beams, ledges is bird gel. A lower cost alternative to netting it can be used for low pressure bird problems on rooftops and to protect rooftop plant machinery.
