Start your Air Sampling Programme with an SKC Kit
23 January 2013
Air sampling is generally carried out to ensure that workplace or environmental air is meeting regulatory standards and to help Occupational Hygiene and Health & Safety professionals assess employee exposure to airborne hazards.
There are strict limits for exposure to hazardous substances, and these are published by regulatory authorities such as the HSE, NIOSH, OSHA, or the EPA.
Most airborne contaminants, whether they come in the form of dusts and particulates or gases and vapours, will also have a recommended method of sampling.
At SKC we can provide you with the kit to suit your needs, along with any required sampling media such as filters, sorbent tubes, and sample bags.
Step One - identify your hazards
If you know what hazards you need to sample for go to Step Two. If you are not sure, then we recommend you consult Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) or COSHH guidelines that can help identify what contaminants may be around.
Step Two - choose your kit
Now simply choose a kit that meets your needs. Kits are available with one or five pumps and in four configurations:
• Basic - starter option with pump and charger
• Dust - with accessories for dust/particulate sampling
• Vapour - with accessories for gas/vapour sampling
• Combined - with accessories for both dust and vapour sampling
Step Three - choose your pump and calibrator
Whatever contaminants you need to sample for, we will have a pump and calibrator for the job.
