The safety industry is ever changing; over the past few months the BSIF has been liaising with a number of bodies and Government officials regarding proposed revisions to legislation and consultations.
These liaisons include the BSIF submitting feedback to the EU Commission concerning proposed amendments to the PPE Directive and participating in the consultative process of the Lofstedt Review ensuring the views of the Federation and its members were aired.
The BSIF facilitates a number of core working groups that are made up of industry experts within its membership. The groups discuss significant matters within market segments which help to derive industry stances to try and influence government legislation. These groups, allow members to participate in standards making and also to have an input into legislation reviews.
David Lummis, Chief Executive Officer at the BSIF comments: “Over the next couple of years, it will be pivotal for businesses to understand the changes in the revised PPE Directive and how they will certainly affect business. Organisations will need to move with the times in order to keep abreast of the industry and adapt to new environments. The service the BSIF provides will continue to assist its members in these challenging times.â€
