Paul Savage, deputy chief welding
instructor at a leading provider of
services and technologies to power
utilities has given his approval to
the new Phantom range of
welding helmets and in
particular to the
'Phantom XL'
professional welding
helmet, from
Weldability-SIF.
Paul said he found the helmet to be light in weight, easy to adjust with the headband being a particularly comfortable fit and the 4 x light detection sensors provided variability for different working conditions from low amp intricate TIG welding through to high amp MIG/MAG wire welding.
The front end protector was easy to change at the same time offering good protection to the reactor sensor and lens with no trace of spatter being found after use on the lens, whilst the finish on the helmet was found to be hard wearing even with welding process that created high levels of spatter and heat.
