Safesite's new innovative Rooflight Cover provides vital protection for fragile rooflights where regular access and inspections of the roof and equipment installed on it are required.
The cover's unique freestanding design means that rooflights can be quickly and easily protected by simply adjusting the telescopic sides and height to the required shape and size before lifting the cover into place. This versatile product can serve as either a temporary or permanent installation as no fixings are required to either the fragile rooflight or roofing membrane
The standard unit can be used to protect fragile rooflights up to 1100mm x 1100mm, with height adjustment up to a maximum 700mm. Additional components can be provided to increase the overall size for larger rooflights.
Safesite's Rooflight Cover has fluted rubber matting bonded to the underside of all components which come into contact with the roof membrane. This protects the membrane from damage via heat transfer or direct contact with components.
The Rooflight Cover has successfully passed external testing by SATRA to criteria and loading taken from the ACR Red Book Test for Non-Fragility of Roof Assemblies. The test involved a 45kg weight free falling a distance of 1.2m to reach a maximum velocity. The Safesite Rooflight Cover arrested the load via deformation of the wire mesh panel and with no penetration of the wire mesh.
