A group has been formed to represent the interests of companies manufacturing chemical containment products. When BSIF membership forms a critical mass of supply interests it is not unusual for companies to group together to benefit from a collective approach to resolve legislation, standards and other health and safety issues.
High on The Chemical Containment Group's agenda is the need to address the issues surrounding oil storage regulations. Currently, there are significantly differences between these regulations in Scotland and England with further variations in Wales which makes it very difficult for companies to operate sensibly when they are active nationally across the UK. The Group will be asking the new government whether something can be done to resolve this.
