INSPEC, the independent provider of testing and certification services to manufacturers of PPE, has expanded its capabilities for testing and certifying hearing protectors to include electronic ear muffs.

The company, which operates laboratories in the UK and China, gained the additional accreditation from United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) earlier this year. It means INSPEC can now test and certify hearing protector products to standards EN 352-4, 352-5, 352-6, 352-7 and 352-8. These cover a range of devices including active noise reduction products, level dependent ear muffs and plugs, headphones for entertainment audio and muffs with built in audio communications.
