Worker safety in focus
23 May 2019
With over 1000 workers operating on the 62- storey site, Multiplex Health and Safety Managers Carl Beisser and Martin Wilshire – identified that Multiplex employees requiring prescription (RX) glasses were unable to use the safety glasses provided as part of the company’s 5 Point PPE requirement.

Instead they were wearing overspecs or goggles over standard prescription eyewear – a situation Carl and Martin were unhappy with, feeling it would impair a workers’ vision.
Carl undertook a time and cost analysis between the traditional route of sending workers off site for an eye test with a high street optician, and using the new Riley ‘On+Sight’ safety eyewear service.
His analysis revealed that the Riley On+Sight service, would not only save Mulitplex significant time but would also save money when comparing the cost of Riley safety eyewear against the leading high street alternative.
Another key benefit of the Riley On+Sight service was that the Riley safety glasses provided specialist safety eyewear solutions with higher safety performance and quality features compared to their traditional safety glasses.
