Using digital tools to enhance employee wellbeing
27 January 2025
EMPLOYEE WELLBEING is crucial to business success, and digital tools enable you to enhance traditional HR processes to support your team in more meaningful ways.

As well as ensuring your ESG due diligence, these tools will help you create a work environment that raises employee productivity and satisfaction. An engaged and motivated workforce means better results for your business, increased brand loyalty and a boosted reputation.
Conducting surveys
Understanding your employees’ needs starts with asking the right questions. Digital survey tools allow you to gather anonymous feedback quickly and efficiently, making it easier to assess the current mood and identify any shared issues threatening job satisfaction.
When creating surveys, ensure your questions are clear and actionable. Instead of asking, “Are you happy at work?”, opt for, “What changes could improve your work experience?”. Include space for open-ended answers to uncover insights you might not anticipate. Analyse the data thoroughly and share the findings with your team. Importantly, act on the feedback. Seeing tangible improvements based on their input will make employees feel heard and valued.
Running online tutorials
Knowledge-sharing platforms can revolutionise employee training and wellbeing initiatives. You can schedule regular tutorials led by experts, teaching your team a range of useful skills they can employ themselves such as stress management and healthy work habits. It’s also a fantastic way to raise awareness of mental health challenges and neurodivergence in the workplace.
Engage participants by asking what kind of training they would like to see and encouraging interaction during sessions. Use polls, breakout rooms, and Q&A segments to make these tutorials more dynamic and embed the learnings. Digital platforms mean you can provide recordings for employees who cannot attend live, ensuring equal access for everyone.
Arranging flexible working
Flexible working has become a cornerstone of modern employment, with most companies offering hybrid roles as a middle ground between full-time office jobs and remote working. Hybrid jobs make it easier for employees to have a healthy work-life balance, and since April 2024 employees can request flexible working hours from day one. Satisfying this demand is only possible through digital tools that allow teams to collaborate seamlessly regardless of location.
Communicate your flexible working policies clearly, and provide guidelines to ensure accountability and productivity. Equip your team with the technology they need, such as VPNs or cloud-based software, to work effectively and securely from home. When employees have greater control over their schedules, they can better balance personal obligations with professional demands, contributing to greater satisfaction and longer-term commitment to your company.
