HSM and BSIF Guide nominated for top industry awards
03 May 2022
HEALTH AND Safety Matters (HSM) and the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) are celebrating after being nominated in two categories for the prestigious Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Awards.
HSM is the official publication of the BSIF and has been shortlisted for the PPA Media Brand of the Year Award (Business Media). The BSIF Guide to the UK Safety and Health Industry was also shortlisted for the PPA Commercial Partnership of the Year Award alongside brands such as Vogue, BBC Top Gear and The Big Issue.
The nominations come just months after HSM was shortlisted in a similar category for the PPA Independent Publisher Awards and the BSIF Guide won the Commercial Partnership of the Year Award.
HSM is the leading health and safety publication in the UK with an ABC Audited circulation of 33,415 and has over 60,000 people registered for its e-newsletter. The magazine is published six times per annum and readers are able to claim CPD hours for reading the magazine. It covers the latest news, prosecutions, case studies, regulations, standards, products, services and technology relating to occupational health and safety.
The BSIF Guide is published by the HSM and is an annual publication offering a unique overview of the UK market. It acts as a reference source for the industry to assist accessing safety products and services and sourcing information on occupational health and safety.
Western Business Media is the publisher of both HSM and the BSIF Guide and its CEO Mark Sennett was delighted after hearing about the nominations. He said: “We are truly honoured to be shortlisted for these two prestigious awards and would like to thank the PPA and the judges for selecting us.
“HSM continues to go from strength-to-strength and our partnership with the BSIF is integral to that. In 2021, we saw a record increase in subscribers to the publication and our e-newsletter and we are proud to be the leading health and safety publication in the UK.
“I’d like to congratulate all our staff, BSIF and our loyal clients and readers without whom the publication couldn’t exist. I also want to wish good luck to all the other brilliant publications that made the shortlist.”
The winners of the PPA Awards will be revealed at a gala dinner on 22 June 2022 in London.
BSIF CEO Alan Murray said: “On behalf of BSIF, I am both delighted and honoured that HSM and the BSIF Guide to the UK Safety & Health Industry are once again being recognised in such a prestigious environment. The BSIF members, being leading stakeholders in this critical industry, work each day to keep the UK workforce safe and healthy and are themselves central to both HSM and the Guide.”
