BSIF Networking Day 2017

30 October 2017

The 2017 BSIF Networking Day was held on Thursday 28th September at Oulton Hall, Rothwell near Leeds.

The event was a huge success and saw BSIF welcome 170 members for the biggest annual Networking Day in the Federation’s history. A huge range of members were present from all areas of the safety industry. In the morning session the delegates received a presentation from Alan Murray and Frank Angear on the progress that was being made implementing the strategy launched in 2016.

The annual golf tournament was held on the challenging championship course with 50 competitors vying for the title. The golfers were treated to sunshine and on course refreshments courtesy of HSM who sponsored the event. The tournament was won by Tony Bond of TB2B Media.

The Gala Dinner, held in the prestigious Oulton Suite, featured the BSIF Outstanding Contribution Award, Sponsored by McOnie and won by Peter Nicholls for his endless work in developing export opportunities for BSIF members and the safety industry as a whole over the last 25 years.

The UBM sponsored Commitment to Federation Activities Award was presented to Hugo Watts for his work within the BSIF Working Groups and for his unstinting service to the Board of Directors, since the mid 1990s.

Both winners were recognised for the outstanding work they have done for the Federation and the industry over many years.

The Federation’s annual charity game of heads n tails was a record breaker and raised over £1000 for good causes.

We would like to thank all of those who attended and played their part in making the event such a success, we look forward to 2018 and welcoming even more members to the Networking Day!
