Retractable barriers and accessories
16 October 2015
RS Components has introduced the Skipper modular safety-barrier and waste-management systems, which it says offer extra convenience, cost-effectiveness and ease-of-use compared to conventional alternatives for industrial site management and emergency response.
The award-winning Skipper barrier unit, which is compatible with 99% of the world’s traffic cones, has nine metres of high-visibility retractable tape, and can be attached directly to the Skipper post or Skipper road cone. Brackets are also available for attaching the unit to walls or magnetic surfaces, such as a vehicle or shelving. Dummy receiver units, magnetic and wall-mount receivers, safety lights, sign holders and post spikes complete the barrier system.
The specially designed Skipper road cone features an innovative helical contour that deflects wind to give superior stability in challenging weather conditions. The cone also has an ingenious glass-bead sleeve that increases reflectivity to give better visibility in low light.
The waste-management system includes waste/recycle bins and a dispenser for safety equipment such as earplugs or glasses. These can be easily clipped to the Skipper posts, and help minimise litter and simplify cleaning up after any operation or event. There are also wall-mount, magnetic and tie-on brackets for the safety dispenser, and a bracket for sanitizer bottles or barrier cream.
The patent-protected Skipper systems are modular, versatile and affordable, and are available in a number of colour options, bringing an innovative new approach to site management and industrial safety that offers superior performance as well as easy setup and removal.
