New lone worker technology to be demonstrated at Health & Safety North
29 September 2014
Blackline GPS Europe will be demonstrating new indoor location technology at the Health & Safety North exhibition in Bolton this year.
The technology is said to be the first of its kind to utilise short-range radio signal beacons - that do not require external power or cabling - to provide highly precise location information of lone workers that operate indoors.
"We are extremely excited about bringing this technology to lone workers in the UK,” says Gavin Boorman, managing director of Blackline GPS Europe. "This really is a first for lone workers in sectors ranging from public works to heavy industry. Finally employees working alone or in isolation can rest easy knowing that they will be located seamlessly whether they are located indoors or outdoors.”
The technology works by communicating with nearby person-worn Loner monitoring devices. Upon detecting Loner Beacons strategically placed within a facility or work area, every Loner device will provide GPS-level precision even in situations where GPS signals are unavailable - such as when working underground, or indoors.
Blackline will be demonstrating its Loner devices and Loner Beacon indoor location technology at Stand L16 in the Bolton Arena on October 8-9.
