FLTA Awards for Excellence opens to public vote
23 January 2013
The Fork Lift Truck Association has unveiled the 'Pick of the year' - the product category nominations for the FLTA Awards for Excellence.
The Fork Lift Truck Association has unveiled the 'Pick of the year' - the product category nominations for the FLTA Awards for Excellence.
The winners in each of the four product categories - Ergonomics, Environment, Safety & Innovation - will collect much coveted 'Archies'.
Announcing this year's Finalists for the Fork Lift Truck Association's Awards for Excellence 2013, the FLTA has paid tribute to the high quality of companies, services and products which will compete in the materials handling industry's most prestigious and longest-established Awards.
The twenty nominations - representing 16 companies from across the globe - will vie to earn an 'Archie' at Awards 2013, which will take place on Saturday 16th February at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole.
FLTA Chairman Martyn Fletcher said: “This year's finalists comprise our pick of the year's best products and services - each demonstrate a commitment to creating something innovative and original that will make a real difference to the lives of those who work with and alongside fork lift trucks.
“Each has made a significant contribution to raising standards within our industry - which is the abiding aim of these Awards. That is why it is so important for their efforts to be recognised through a vote by the very people who actually stand to benefit from these achievements.â€
Simon Duddy, Editor of Handling & Storage Solutions added: “We are delighted to be the media partner for the Fork Lift Truck Association Awards. The winners will be announced at the Awards extravaganza on February 16 and I'm sure it will be a night to remember.
“The FLTA Awards Pick of the Year is effectively a ready-made hit list of forklift industry innovation and a must-see for those with a budget to spend looking to snap up the best technology.
“After all, when it comes to picking a product, most of us place a great deal of faith in a positive recommendation. Not only can it help to short-cut a long and arduous audition process, it can also introduce us to previously unknown products.â€
And here is where you come in. We are asking you to vote for your favourites and help determine who will win an Archie on the big night in February.
So please make your vote count at: VOTE HERE
Voting closes on Wednesday 16th January 2013.
Anyone whose work involves materials handling equipment is strongly encouraged to vote. This includes anyone who owns or hires fork lift trucks, as well as those who manage, supervise or train fork lift operators - and, of course, the operators themselves. With their first-hand experience, they are perhaps the most discerning judges of all.
That's Entertainment - FLTA unveils night of fun for February Awards
News presenter Emma Crosby will anchor the big night, while John Oliver's LIVE is back by popular demand and Miss 60s provides an electrifying show.
The Fork Lift Truck Association has enlisted the support of news presenter Emma Crosby to announce the Finalists and assist Sponsors in presenting Awards on the big night.
Emma's a familiar face to news viewers, with a career that's seen her host GMTV and Sunrise on Sky News, as well as present on BBC and business channel CNBC.
A well-respected journalist, Emma was on-air when terrorists attacked Glasgow Airport; her anchoring of the event helped the channel win a BAFTA Award.
Raise a glass
For those who attend the event itself, the Awards takes on a whole new dimension: fun, laughter and excitement; superb entertainment, sumptuous food and, perhaps most importantly, a chance to rub shoulders with prospective business contacts or catch up with old colleagues and friends.
Back by popular demand for Awards 2013 will be John Oliver's LIVE: the UK's number one eleven piece party and function band. With a stunning line up of four dynamic vocalists combined with a popular brass section, LIVE delivered such a blistering set at last year's Awards that the dance floor was permanently packed - a tribute to the quality of their performance.
Rounding off the entertainment is a tribute of an altogether different kind: Miss 60s. Her electrifying show captures the female singing of the sixties: from Dusty Springfield to Janis Joplin.
More than ever, Awards 2013 looks set to be a magical evening… and you can be part of it.
Secure your place
This year's event promises to be a night to remember - so book early to avoid disappointment. (Ed: This is not a ploy to drum up business - last year's Awards sold out several weeks before the event!)
Normally bookings are made for tables of ten. However, smaller groups are frequently accommodated: new friends developed and old acquaintances renewed!
This year tickets are priced at just £90.00 plus VAT for FLTA members and £130.00 plus VAT for non-members. Booking forms can be obtained from the FLTA office.
Importantly, the FLTA has negotiated an extremely attractive discount on room rates, so staying over is far more affordable than in previous years.
For information on the Awards visit the FLTA website www.fork-truck.org.uk, email mail@fork-truck.org.uk or call 01635 277577.
