While erecting the steel framework
of a new 68,000m2 mixed-use
building in the Helsinki-Vantaa
Airport area of Finland, contractor
SRV Rakennus Oy
required a
preventative
solution that would
negate the risk to anyone working at
height and protect the workforce at
ground level. So Combisafe supplied
500 of its lightweight, versatile Steel
Mesh Barriers.
The barrier is essentially a guardrail, toeboard and mesh rolled into one. It can span trades, accommodating their different edge protection needs at different phases of the construction project.
"The Steel Mesh Barrier proved to be the best solution because it offered protection to the workers at height and against falling objects to the workers below," says Markku Kallioinen, site manager, SRV Rakennus Oy. "It was easy and quick to install and gave the site a professional look."
