Demag Cranes & Components has installed a crane system at Cantebury Cathedral's new stone saw shop.

Demag Cranes & Components has installed a crane system at Cantebury Cathedral's new stone saw shop.
To meet the needs of the stone processing operation, Demag supplied an 18.25m span overhead travelling crane with a mounted 10t SWL Demag DR-COM electric wire rope hoist.
The system has travel speeds of 20/5m/min, cross travel speeds of 5 to 20m/min and lifting speeds of 4.0/0.7m/min. It is controlled by a mobile pendant which allows the operator to position the stone accurately on the saw for cutting.
The smooth operation of the hoist also helps to reduce the possibility of damage to the stone blocks during movement.
