Fit testing awareness

25 February 2015

Respiratory Protective Assessment (RPA), an independent Fit2Fit accredited fit testing specialist, is teaming up with TSI to explain employee respiratory protection during four seminars in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire in 2015.

Occupational groups in many areas depend on properly fitting respirators for protection from respiratory hazards. Not everyone’s face is the same and it is unlikely that one size or model of respirator will be sufficient to provide an adequate fit to a whole workforce. Therefore a fit test is important to identify a poorly fitting respirator and assess whether a specific make, model and size of mask is suitable for an individual wearer.

Seminar attendees can expect to gain an insight into respiratory protection and respirator fit testing as well as an understanding of the fit testing guidance under UK Health & Safety Guidance (HSE 282/28) plus a 'hands-on' session.

TSI  will be showing its TSI PortaCount quantitative respirator fit tester which is able to fit test all types of masks, from full face masks to half face masks and disposables.

RPA has been fit testing in the UK since 1999. Its team has extensive knowledge and will be on hand to provide advice and answer questions throughout each day.
