The new 10th edition of the First Aid Manual, said to be the UK’s leading written guidance for performing first aid, is now available and includes changes to the infant choking protocol.

St John Ambulance, co-authored and authorised the manual with two other primary first aid providers, St Andrew’s First Aid and the British Red Cross.
Published by Dorling Kindersley, the 10th edition is a comprehensive guide to treating casualties of all ages in any emergency.
It includes updated guidance for minor and major first aid situations, including severe bleeding, hypothermia, chest pains and pelvic injuries, with new protocol for head injuries.
