Carrying dangerous goods? - Get it right
07 November 2013
Legislation commonly known as ADR clearly guides those who may have to transport dangerous goods during the course of their work, whether in the transport industry or just as a user.
However, there are times when help is needed to interpret the regulations or, more likely, assistance is required when things go wrong, such as a road traffic collision, which is where the National Chemical Emergency Centre (NCEC) can help.
From ensuring the placarding of the vehicle is correct to being able to obtain an emergency response, it is vital to prepare before loading and moving anything hazardous. In fact, ADR requires those in the industry to have a trained specialist available to make sure this happens.
NCEC has over 40 years experience in dealing with the needs of those who are transporting or handling dangerous goods. As specialists they can offer advice on the requirements of legislation and the practicalities of incident response.
