Ear defenders range wins international design award

3M, the diversified technology company, has announced that its Peltor X Ear Defenders Series has been awarded a red dot prize for excellence in product design.

Members of the red dot jury commented: "Safety and comfort share equal weight in the design of the Peltor X from 3M. The colourful edge gives this hearing protection solution a distinctive visual highlight.”

Created in collaboration with customers, the Peltor X Ear Defenders Range consists of five different models offering increasing levels of protection. Each model is available as a headband or helmet-mounted version giving ten products in total, all of which are colour-coded to provide easy recognition between levels.

Rob Green, product manager for the 3M Personal Safety Division, explains: "The Peltor X Range was designed with our three core pillars of product development in mind - design, comfort and protection - so we're delighted to have been recognised by such a prestigious international awards scheme."
