Briggs Equipment believes that
companies should do more to
encourage workers to speak up
about health and safety issues. The
research suggests that around 75% of
employees in the materials handling
sector believe there are 'accidents
waiting to happen'.
Addressing the situation, Briggs has come up with five simple, cost effective, tips to help bring operators on-side and reduce the impact of 'blame culture'.
Make it easy to report an issue - with one central person to report matters to.
Make it anonymous - with a simple printed card and a drop box.
Make it worthwhile - with small reward Make it happen - when an issue is reported, declare it and put a timescale on it; then share the results.
Two little words - thank operators who speak out.
