CryoService, one of the UK's largest suppliers of drinks dispense gas solutions to the leisure industry has launched an online drinks dispense gas training package 'Using Cellar Gases Safely', bringing a much needed health and safety solution for operators in this sector.
The product which brings together an all encompassing training and certification package, covers all aspects of drinks dispense gas safety. This includes the safe use of gas cylinders as well as the use of CryoService Accellarate gas system.
One of the biggest concerns for any employer operating bars, clubs, restaurants or leisure centres is the health and safety of its staff and customers. The nature of the job often requires staff to work in a cellar or other confined spaces surrounded by potentially hazardous materials including gas cylinders and chemicals, as well as bottles, barrels and glasses. Until now there has been no online certified course for training people who work with CO2, a potentially hazardous substance, to help them clearly understand this risk and work with the gas safely.
'Using Cellar Gases Safely' is a simple to use online learning programme providing a training package that delivers key safety messages for all personnel who either handle, store or use compressed gases.
The easy step by step course, which takes approximately 1 hour in total to complete, comes in three modules -
• Introduction to Gases
• Using gas cylinders safely
• Using your CryoService Accellarate system safely
All candidates study the Introduction module, followed by module 2 or module 3, or both, depending on the system(s) they have in their workplace. Each module ends with a 'multiple choice' test. Those who successfully complete the course receive a certificate to validate their newly acquired knowledge of gas health and safety, plus reference material to reinforce the learning. The course is written to industry recognised standards and represents the minimum standard good retailers should aim for when training their staff. One of the main benefits of the online course is that it allows the individual to complete the training in-house at their own pace, with minimal interruption to their working.
