Matting makes a splash

The Dubai American Academy located in the Al Barsha area of Dubai has recently installed Heronrib slip resistant matting around its two swimming pools and in its changing-rooms.

Heronrib, manufactured by Plastic Extruders, was chosen because of its slip-resistant safety combined with visual appeal. Not only does the matting provide a safe and a very hygienic surface, but the slip resistant surface also protects students bare feet all year round from the heat in 40°+ temperatures.

Heronrib has a vinyl open grid construction with raised profile underbars which help water to drain away easily in all directions. This means that the embossed surface remains relatively dry and highly slip resistant. The matting is very hardwearing yet comfortable to stand on, while the antibacterial and anti-fungal additives ensure it is hygienic for bare feet and helps reduce cross-contamination.
