Prepare your business for future challenges

27 October 2017

With the world of work changing rapidly, IOSH’s annual international conference is set to aid businesses in preparing for the challenges that lie in store.

Regulatory changes, emerging technologies, a new international standard and the mental health and wellbeing agenda are among the issues set to make 2018 a challenging year for business.

IOSH 2017 will cover all these topics and more, helping business leaders ensure they are ready.

Graham Parker, IOSH President, said: “The new year will bring new challenges for those responsible for safety and health in the workplace. Now is the time to start planning ahead and there is no better place to start than our conference.

“No matter what sector you work in or where in the world you are, there are many reasons to attend IOSH 2017. It is not to be missed.”

The event, being held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, UK, on 20-21 November, has a packed line-up of high-level, influential speakers.

Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Arts, who spearheaded a recent review into modern employment practices in the UK, is among them. He will explore issues surrounding the ‘gig economy’ as flexible, ‘zero-hours’ and self-employed work becomes more common.

Other speakers include Stephen Martin, Director-General of the Institute of Directors; legendary Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson; and Geoff McDonald, an expert on mental health.
