Managing vibration
26 August 2015
New to the Master Tool Services range is an effective, affordable vibration management system that targets the niche market of personal protective equipment (PPE) for HAVS (hand arm vibration syndrome).

Master Abrasives has recently been made a major UK distributor for Curotec Team, the manufacturer of the 'Curo’ system. Curo’ not only accurately monitors vibration exposure levels but also actively reduces the risk of contracting HAVS.
The vibration levels conducted from tools such as sanders, grinders and chipping hammers used daily by various manufacturing industries are amongst the most dangerous if not controlled. The Curo is able to quantify the daily exposure of, and therefore the risk to, each member of the workforce, enabling preventative action to be taken for those who are identified as being at risk. This enables pre-existing HAVS sufferers to continue work in a controlled environment where exposure levels are safely reduced, preventing further deterioration.
The Curo also measures vibration on trigger time rather than live vibration or ownership time. As a result, productivity is extended. The Curo can also prevent operators underestimating their exposure and prevent claims of overexposure, thus reducing an organisation’s liabilities to litigation.
The Curo has on average a 16–18-month battery life. To maximise the efficiency and use of the product, the Curo can simply be reprogrammed time and again for a number of operators. The user-friendly approach created by the Curotec engineers ensures that no recharging is required. Operators can be issued with the Curo – which stores 30 days’ worth of vibration exposure data – until the time when all data can be swiftly downloaded onto a mains supply (laptop, computer).
