Lone worker honours
04 December 2014
Skyguard has been recognised for its continued contribution to lone worker protection at the IFSEC Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2014, beating some tough competition in the ‘Best Deployment of Lone Worker Technology’ category.

Presented at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in London, attended by over 1,000 security industry experts, Director Will Murray received the award on behalf of the company.
The high judging panel – including representatives from all areas of security and fire, the world of academia and the policing sector, determined that Skyguard’s deployment of personal safety devices and 24 hour Incident Management to Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust surpassed all other entries.
Skyguard provides 700+ MySOS personal safety alarms to the flagship Trust, replacing the incumbent provider’s devices originally purchased via the 2009 Framework Agreement. Since issuing the keyfob-sized devices to lone working employees, a survey carried out earlier this year reported an average of 93.1 score out of 100 for overall satisfaction.
Marketing Director, Will Murray spoke after the presentation: "We are delighted that our work with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust has been honoured with this award.
"Receiving such high recognition from our industry peers is a proud moment for all at Skyguard. It underscores our track record for delivering first-class lone worker protection to the NHS as well as other public sector bodies and blue-chip organisations.”
Paul Clifford, Security Operations Manager of Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust spoke of the impact that Skyguard has made towards lone working.
"The Skyguard devices are small enough to be discreet but a very powerful device. Adopting the Skyguard device has allowed us to provide a consistent approach to lone working within the Trust.
"To be able to offer the Skyguard device helps the employee feel safer and gives them more freedom and the confidence to live their life through a potentially difficult time.
Guy’s and St Thomas are one of over 100 NHS Trusts that now utilise Skyguard’s service to protect their lone working employees.
