The asecos experimental lecture on
'risks and protective measures in
handling hazardous substances'
demonstrates explosions and
chemical reactions that can happen in
day-to-day work. Even the handling
of smallest amounts of flammable
liquids can cause devastating
consequences. And, according to
asecos, the potential risk increases
with experienced staff used to daily
work with hazardous materials since
people tend to take for granted things
that they do or see often.
In collaboration with DSC, asecos, the German manufacturer of safety storage cabinets, offers an informative lecture including live experiments.
The goal is to raise the participants' awareness and perception of hazardous materials.
Held at customer sites, the DSC/asecos DSEAR lecture is said to be informative, lively and entertaining. It covers UK legislation, giving examples of legal requirements and prosecutions. The chemistry style experiments clearly demonstrate what can go wrong when storage and handling is not taken seriously.
