Over 40 companies attended an event run by The REACH Centre addressing technical and regulatory issues facing the industry in the sustainable management of chemicals. Simon Brearley, director, spoke on CLP regulation

Over 40 companies attended an
 event run by The REACH Centre
 addressing technical and regulatory
 issues facing the industry in the
 sustainable management of
 chemicals.
 
Simon Brearley, director, spoke on CLP regulations and the fast approaching need to complete C&L notification by the end of this year, while Kath Carr, a regulatory chemist, discussed her experiences of supporting clients in analytical work for substance characterisation for lead and joint registrants. Rounding off the day was Cherrie Whiteley from the newley formed 'The Nano Centre', addressing issues around developing a suitable risk assessment for Nano materials.
Due to its success, the event will be repeated ealy next year.
