Pioneering protection
03 October 2022
V2180 INVINCIBLE IGS is V12’s most innovative and advanced safety boot ever. Developed over two years through collaboration with carbon experts, university professors and industry specialists, it features the latest thinking and pioneering technology to offer never-before-seen patented metatarsal protection.

A met boot is designed to protect the metatarsals, the long bones connecting your toes to your ankles. The Metatarsals are vulnerable because they sit under a thin layer of skin and aren’t protected by fat or muscle. Furthermore, they are relatively thin bones, and like the toes, they are exposed as they extend beyond the body line.
Metatarsal fractures are extremely painful and can involve extensive recovery time. But with Invincible, reliable, consistent and industry-leading met protection has arrived.
Looking under the leather:
At the heart of the ExoGuard is a specialised protective carbon strap featuring graphene mixed with resin, which is over 200 times stronger than steel. This type of material is used in radar and stealth aircraft - that’s the level of technology that ExoGuard utilises in its met protection. Designed with zoned flexibility, the strap is securely anchored yet seamlessly integrated into the boot, so comfort is never compromised.
Protective PU studs
Beneath the protective carbon strap is a network of PU studs designed to evenly distribute energy transferred from the carbon strap after the initial impact, further safeguarding the metatarsals bones.
Superior shock absorption
ExoGuard‘s third line of defence against impact is an advanced dual density PU pad. This material distributes away the remaining minimal energy waves from impact with its superior shock-absorption and reliable energy dispersal. This durable yet cushioned material also offers additional comfort for the foot as well as furthering the flexibility of the ExoGuard.
Innovation stitched into every pair
Invincibles' innovation isn’t just in its metatarsal protection. Pioneering design and manufacturing runs throughout the entire boot.
It features highly advanced nanotechnology in the toecap, an intricate structure of carbon nanotubes combined with a fiberglass resin which creates a toecap of incredible strength. But this woven nanotube network makes for an extremely light as well as strong material. This means the toecap protects superbly, but its lightweight composition reduces fatigue, is thinner which allows increased toe room, and is slower to conduct heat or cold, so the wearer can work in hot or cold temperatures.
Trialling
As is the case with all new V12 products, V12 approached its fleet of trial wearers, the V12 Test Pilots – who work in a range of safety-critical industries – to trial the Invincible boots in the environments they will be worn in day in, day out.
And Invincible excelled in every department.
The boot scored an overall 4.8 out of 5 by the trial wearers and notched up an outstanding 4 out of 5 for fit and slip resistance.
Testing
However, the clearest feedback regarding Invincible’s top-level protective qualities came from its performance in the metatarsal safety test.
The company says that when tested against 7 other leading metatarsal boots, not only did Invincible outperform all other boots, but it achieved 10% over the required clearance level. Furthermore, this wasn’t simply its best result – it was an average of all the multiple times the boot was tested, proving that Invincible gives its wearers total peace of mind through total protection.
