Carbon neutral products that don’t cost the Earth
24 June 2025
ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL and Governance (ESG) is a key consideration now for all businesses across a variety of sectors.

With industries like manufacturing, construction, automotive and oil and gas being big users of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and PPE a major focus area for sustainability, exploring all options and keeping abreast of the latest innovations in more sustainable products is vital.
While single-use products like masks and disposable gloves are an obvious area to look at, there are many other products available that offer robust sustainability credentials. One manufacturer of such products is hand protection specialist firm, Traffi. The company is a UK PPE manufacturing partner of RS that places sustainability at the heart of its business. These values and ethos fit with the RS Group mission to make amazing happen for a better world, and the RS Better World product range of more sustainable products.
Traffi’s LXT range of cut protection gloves is independently certified as carbon neutral – causing less harm to the planet – and is plastic free. They are developed without compromising on high levels of cut protection, conforming to cut level E under the new EN388:2016 standard.
The TG6240 glove offers unrivalled levels of dexterity and comfort for long wear use, while the MicroDex coating and Life Extending Technology protect in wet, dry and oily conditions. The thumb crotch aids longer life resulting in a reduction in cost in usage.
More sustainable products like these are being developed on a continual basis, but one of the key considerations for businesses, particularly in challenging economic conditions, is cost. RS’ Environment, Health and Safety industry report ‘Improving the Standard’ 2025 highlighted that while sustainability remains a high priority area for many businesses, there has been a notable drop in willingness to pay more for a sustainable product.
Traffi is committed to making sustainable products at no extra cost to the customer, and zero negative impact on the environment, to the point of delivery. The LXT range is suitable for virtually any industry including manufacturing and engineering, automotive, construction, oil and gas, rail, waste and recycling, and any Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activity.
Traffi’s range of carbon neutral cut gloves can be viewed on the RS website.
