Roll out completed for 400 direct PAT systems
14 October 2019
Earlsmere has completed final roll out of more than 400 direct Pat testing systems to VP Brandon Hire Station.
The system is installed in every location within the VP Group, allowing electrical testing prior to re-hire. It consists of Toolminder software, Megger 450 Pat tester, RFID scanner or barcode reader and label printer, and is fully operational following installation.
After scanning a barcode or RFID tag on the equipment, the system automatically locates the asset with all its database information and downloads test requirements to the Megger 450. The operator is prompted to perform the required tests.
Following testing, the printer produces a test label, together with a test certificate if required. Results are automatically updated to the database.
Additional benefits gained from using the system are, proof of test, location, date and time and operator conducting the test. Location of assets, frequency of hire through testing and traceability of assets between location are also recorded. The Earlsmere system is linked to VP’s G42 system for traceability and verification.
