Fighting fire with flexibility

Backpack sprayers are an essential tool for controlling small scale fires or those occurring in confined spaces. BETE is a leading supplier of backpack sprayers and following successful trials in early 2006, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS), invested in 150 flexible backpack sprayers in June 2006.

The sprayers consist of a lightweight, thermo-welded flexible tank, a manually operated pump and a soft bag design which provides optimum comfort and manoeuvrability in confined spaces, as well as convenient storage.

The non-pressurised backpack delivers a throw range equivalent to that of a pressurised vessel (a 3m spray and up to a 12m jet). However, as a non-pressurised unit it does not require the costly equipment checks required on pressurised vessels.
