It seems simple, everyone has an
opinion yet lots of decisions are
made on emotive and emotional
preferences when it comes to
choosing gloves. So why is it so
difficult? Similar manufacturing
facilities and processes are used
across the globe which logically
should lend itself to the same glove
being used in the same application.
So why are safety officers specifying so many different types and frequently providing the wrong product to the workforce to get the job done? Gloves are unique in PPE as they are the membrane between the worker and the jobs they do so it is essential to match comfort with safety and ergonomics. But the number of gloves on offer in the UK totals many thousands so it can be difficult to find the most suitable glove for a job. The technically correct, yet commonly incomprehensible, language used to describe many products can make this task even harder.
In response to this ATG has been conducting extensive studies over recent years to understand your fundamental needs. The results of this study have enabled ATG to develop and launch a focused range of products called the proRange which includes three brands and 10 products which it says cover 90% of the work done by those in the metal fabrication, assembly, petrochemical or off-shore business.
