uvex combines functionality and design

Safety spectacles can only offer the best protection when worn properly. This requires sophisticated features that can be adapted to individual requirements, deliver high levels of comfort and protection, all in an appealing design.
The new uvex i-5 delivers just that. With years of experience working with wearers, uvex has created a product that combines the very best innovative features to create a product that fits everyone equally well, delivers superior wearer comfort and provides maximum protection.
High levels of adjustability
Sleek side arms with 3 incline positions and length adjustment mean that the uvex i-5 can be individually adapted to suit any facial shape. The slight curve of the side arms delivers a light spring effect which combined with soft grip materials, ensure a low-pressure grip around the ears, guaranteeing the spectacles stay put even when worn for long periods or during strenuous physical exertion. The injection moulded soft, flexible nose pad provides the perfect pressure-free fit — no annoying slipping or pinching - allowing the wearer to get on with their day without distraction.
Soft sealing technology in the brow (uvex x-tended eyeshield) is also injection moulded onto the lens and wraps around the face for a secure, snug fit. This not only ensures high levels of comfort, it also provides greater protection against particles, dust and dirt. The injection moulding process increases durability and extends product life.
The x-tended sideshield is angled to the rear protecting the area around the sides of the eyes without restricting peripheral vision.
uvex is well known for its proven, high-performance supravision lens coating technology that prevents fogging or scratching on the lens, thereby guaranteeing outstanding clear vision.
Protection for the whole eye area
uvex (ultraviolet excluded) safety eyewear with UV absorption incorporated in the lens material filters 100% of UV rays up to 400 nm.
All polycarbonate lenses filter UV ensuring that most safety eyewear meets the EN166/EN170 standard which specifies UV protection up to 380 nm. However, the WHO (World Health Organisation) and latest scientific studies state that this level of protection is insufficient and recommend that safety eyewear lenses provide UV protection up to 400 nm covering UVB and UVA rays.
The effects of ultraviolet radiation on the skin are well known to most: 95% associate UV radiation with skin problems and 85% know the resulting risk – melanoma. However, when it comes to exposing our eyes to UV radiation, the figures look very different: only 7% associate UV radiation with eye diseases. In addition to the skin, the eye is the most susceptible organ to damage caused by sunlight. uvex is in a unique position providing UV400 protection across its entire eyewear range.
Modern, sporty design
Style is half the battle when it comes to ensuring PPE gets worn. In addition to the high levels of wearer comfort, the uvex i-5's contemporary, sporty design enhances its appeal, therefore, increasing wearer acceptance and compliance.
Conclusion: Adaptive and pcaked full of sophisticated technology, the uvex i-5 safety glasses deliver high levels of protection and superior wearer comfort.
