TLM Laser, as the exclusive
distributor in the UK and Ireland for
Univet of Italy, introduces Sylex – a
new material developed by the
Research & Development department
of Univet that is said to offer marketleading
protection levels at a low price
compared to other plastic frames
available.

Its chemical structure allows Sylex
to offer better resistance to a direct hit
of the laser, reaching protection levels
in accordance with EN207:2009: 190-
315 D LB8 + IR LB5, 315-1400 D LB6
+ IRM LB7, 1400-11000 DI LB4.

The company claims that these
levels are usually achieved only with
the addition of metal details inside the
frame. The high protection of the
material combines with a light weight,
meaning the user can wear the
spectacles in comfort for complete
shifts.
