Heat and UV safety for outdoor work

Posted on Tuesday 27 January 2026

IN HOT environments and under high UV exposure, adding sun protection to helmets is essential to help reduce heat stress and protect outdoor workers from harmful ultraviolet rays.

Heat stress can cause fatigue, dehydration, and reduced concentration, increasing the risk of workplace accidents, while prolonged UV exposure can lead to serious and cumulative skin damage. KASK helmets are designed to enhance comfort through advanced ventilation channels, multiple air intakes, and breathable inner padding. To further improve protection in sunny conditions, KASK helmets can be equipped with the Sun Shield and Neck Shade, which provide effective UVA and UVB protection with UPF 50+.

The KASK Sun Shield features a 360-degree brim that protects the neck, face, and ears from direct sunlight. It easily attaches to helmet lamp clips, is compatible with all KASK helmets and includes a black undersurface to reduce sun reflection. The KASK Neck Shade offers ergonomic, adjustable protection for the neck and ears, promoting breathability and freedom of movement. It is compatible with the Zenith, Primero, and Superplasma helmet series.

By integrating sun protection accessories into helmet systems, KASK helps improve safety, comfort, and long-term wellbeing for outdoor workers throughout the summer months.
