In an aim to decrease disruption
from delivery noise, Toyota Material
Handling has designed its new BT
Lifter Silent hand pallet truck to be
as quiet as possible.

With high quality rubber steering,
Powerthane bogie wheels, frames
fitted with shock absorbing material
to reduce vibration noise and
adjustable rubber studs, the unit
operates at no more than 60dBA –
the volume of a conversation and
20% quieter than a standard hand
pallet truck.

In the lead up to and during the
Olympics, Transport for London will
be encouraging out of hour deliveries
to decrease congestion. Transport for
London and the Noise Abatement
Society have come up with a Code of
Practice, which details considerations
companies will need to take into
account when applying for and
arranging out of hour deliveries. One
of the main considerations is noise
disruption, making the BT Lifter
Silent a crucial piece of equipment to
facilitate such deliveries.
