Triple win for trucks

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Toyota Material Handling received three awards for outstanding design at this year’s IF Design awards for their BT Levio P-series powered pallet truck, Traigo 80 electric-powered forklift and Tonero engine powered forklift.

With growing competition in the design arena, this year iF (International Forum) received entries from over 60 countries, increasing the challenge for entrants to pass the intense scrutiny of the international jury.

Tony Wallis, sales and marketing director for Toyota Material Handling UK, said: “Receiving international recognition confirms to us that we are leading in the industry and the design of our products is based on sound principles. It shows that we understand the market and the needs of our customers and that we are putting their needs at the heart of our product development and design process.”

Wallis added: “Although the look of our products is important to us, there are also a number of core values that underpin our design efforts, to make sure we are getting things right for our customers and they feel safe and comfortable driving our trucks.”
